http://triblive.com/business/headlines/8533308-74/million-impact-county#axzz3cfCpEbg8 This argument fearures the benefits of the impact fee. A severance tax would clearly undercut the current impact fee. It would put into risk needed funding for municipalities and counties where natural gas exploration is taking place.

http://stateimpact.npr.org/pennsylvania/2015/06/05/butler-county-gas-leaseholders-sue-local-opponents-of-zoning-change/ Butler County leaseholders are suing anti-frackers in a Pennsylvania community based on delays in drilling and private property rights

http://triblive.com/usworld/nation/8502804-74/fracking-wells-drinking#axzz3cCNv4kXK This EPA study demonstrates little to no impact on water sources from fracking unconventional wells. When drilling is done safely with proper cement casing, water sources are not affected. Drilling must be done with proper procedures and safety measures.

http://www.pennlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2015/06/natural_gas_severance_tax.html This is one reason why I do not believe the Governor’s severance tax is the answer in PA. You cannot chase this industry to other states if you live in Pennsylvania.
